Please Donate,
We Need You!

Most of the dogs we pull were severely abused. They have lived lives that you and I could never imagine. Our dogs are costly but we believe that every dog sick or healthy deserves a chance at life. Donations allow us to provide the care they need. Vet bills run high but Donations are our only way to continue our fight. Please consider donating to allow us more opportunities to save the most misunderstood breed in the world.

About The Breed

A pit bull is a canine breed that falls under the category of muscular and powerful dogs, encompassing various breeds such as the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. These dogs are renowned for their robust physique, well-defined musculature, and impressive athletic prowess. However, it is crucial to note that pit bulls have often faced misconceptions and garnered an undeserved reputation for aggression.

Contrary to popular belief, pit bulls can exhibit remarkable loyalty, affection, and playfulness when provided with appropriate training, socialization, and responsible ownership. While their physical attributes may be imposing, these dogs possess a gentle and loving nature that can be nurtured through positive reinforcement and compassionate care. It is important to recognize that any dog's behavior is influenced by various factors, including their upbringing, environment, and individual temperament.

Responsible ownership entails ensuring that pit bulls receive proper training, exercise, and mental stimulation. Engaging in positive reinforcement techniques, such as reward-based training, can help foster a strong bond and encourage desirable behaviors. Socializing pit bulls from an early age, exposing them to various people, animals, and environments, can also contribute to their overall well-being and reduce the likelihood of behavioral issues.

By dispelling misconceptions and promoting responsible ownership, we can appreciate pit bulls for the loyal and loving companions they can be, while also ensuring the safety and well-being of both the dogs and the communities they belong to.

Success stories!

Rocky was found muzzled and left tied to a pole in Long Beach after having recently been adopted from the Orange County Animal Shelter. He’s a wonderful dog that was a staff favorite. We rescued him from the Long Beach Animal Shelter and look forward to finding him his forever home.

Please help us continue to rescue great dogs like Rocky by donating.  Southern California Pit Bull Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit all-volunteer animal rescue organization.   We depend 100% on charitable donations to rescue our dogs. Without donations, we cannot continue our life-saving work.
